On behalf of our City Council and the Rosenberg Development Corporation, welcome to Rosenberg - a community founded 125 years ago when the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway chose this area as a railroad stop. Over the years, our location on major rail and interstate routes has encouraged the development of light manufacturing, distribution facilities, pharmaceutical research and production, nationally recognized retailers and new, affordable residential subdivisions.   Rosenberg has experienced phenomenal growth over the course of the last decade, thanks to our business-friendly atmosphere, strategic location, convenient access to the Port of Freeport and the Port of Houston, and a superb quality of life.  Currently, an intermodal facility is being developed in the City’s extra-territorial jurisdiction providing additional investment and jobs to the area, and prompting a multitude of opportunities for further economic development.
